ローリング・ストーンズは「キング・オブ・ザディコ」と称されたザディコ音楽の伝説的アーティスト、クリフトン・シェニエの「Zydeco Sont Pas Sales」をカヴァーし、その曲を含んだシェニエのトリビュート・アルバム『Tribute to the King of Zydeco』が6月27日に発売される予定です。ミック・ジャガーがクレオール系のフランス語で歌っているカヴァーには、アコーディオン奏者のスティーヴ・ライリーがゲスト参加しているとのことです。< SOURCE: Ultimate Classic Rock / Huron Daily Tribune >

トリビュート・アルバムは1987年に糖尿病関連の腎臓病で亡くなったシェニエの生誕100周年を記念して企画されたもので、ストーンズ以外にはルシンダ・ウィリアムス、スティーヴ・アール、タージ・マハル、ジョン・ハイアット、ジミー・ヴォーンなどのアーティストが名を連ねています。アルバムの収益はルイジアナ大学ラファイエット校の奨学金に充てられ、伝統的なザディコ・アコーディオンを学ぶ学生を支援することでシュニエの影響を持続させることを目的としています。
