ブライアン・ジョーンズの脱退、死亡、ミック・テイラーの加入といった混乱期に録音された69年の傑作アルバム。ライ・クーダー、レオン・ラッセル、アル・クーパー、ニッキー・ホプキンス、メリー・クレイトンなど多彩なゲストを迎えて作られたこのアルバムは、英デッカ・レーベルでの最後のスタジオ録音となりました。
ブライアンはこのアルバムのレコーディングセッション中に解雇され、その1ヶ月以内に亡くなりました。ブライアンが参加したのはコンガを叩いた「Midnight Rambler」とオートハープを弾いた「You Got the Silver」の2曲のみです。新加入のテイラーが参加したのは「Country Honk」と「Live With Me」で、他の曲のリズムとリード・パートのギターはほぼキースが担当しています。
