Sucking in the Seventies

1981年3月に米国で、1ヶ月遅れで英国でリリースされた変則的なコンピレーション・アルバム。単なるベスト盤でなく、レア・トラックを多く収録しているのが特徴です。

「Everything Is Turning to Gold」は「Shattered」のシングルのB面として発売された曲。「When the Whip Comes Down」は1978年7月6日、デトロイトで収録されたライヴ・ヴァージョン。「If I Was a Dancer (Dance Pt. 2)」は『Emotional Rescue』のオープニング・トラックである「Dance (Pt. 1)」とは異なる歌詞を含む別ヴァ―ジョン。他にも「Shattered」を除く6曲はエディット・ヴァージョンが収録されています。特に「Time Waits for No One」と「Mannish Boy」はこのアルバムのために編集されました。
